About Caroline and the
Program Inspiration

Caroline is a highly trained professional dancer specializing in ballet, contemporary, and modern dance. She is also the founder of Graham with Caroline, Bobcaygeon's Creative Movement Centre, and Caroline's Creative Camp and Initiatives. She has also taught as a guest artist at Etobicoke School of the Arts since 2018, has been an assistant Martha Graham technique teacher with the School of Toronto Dance Theatre, taught at Leslieville School of Dance from 2018-2020, and  has taught private and group lessons for athletes online and in person for a variety of organizations and schools.

Originally from Oakville ON, Caroline began studying dance at the age of three through Fleming's School of Performing Arts, which later became Balletomane Inc. She later went on to study as a dance major at performing arts high school, Etobicoke School of the Arts. While at the school, Caroline was a dance company member in grades eleven and twelve, and a leadership demonstrator for the grade ten dance classes in her graduating year. Caroline graduated the school as an Ontario Scholar. She was also awarded the Arts Showcase Award and Edward Lam Scholarship.

Caroline is a graduate of the School of Toronto Dance Theatre and is the recipient of the Pedagogy Practicum award for teaching the Martha Graham technique. Caroline also completed two seasons as a virtual student of the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance located in Manhattan NY as an Advanced Studies Certificate post graduate program student.

Through her youth, hockey played a big part in Caroline's life outside of dance. As a young girl, she  would always watch NHL games with her family when she came home from dance and attended games in person frequently. Caroline also grew up around NHL players who were friends of the family.

As her dance training become the priority, Caroline did not have time to play the game herself but found herself learning so much about the game through observational discovery. The professional level of training she was gaining helped Caroline learn what was required of the players physically at a high level. Her time with the School of Toronto Dance Theatre and the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance helped Caroline develop a deep understanding of body alignment, how to shift her weight quickly, how to use proper muscle control in off centre shapes, how to regain body control when thrown off balance, and how to get up and down from the ground quickly and efficiently. With her analytic and creative perspective, Caroline has developed a training program for hockey players using the knowledge she has learned from her dance education and career to benefit hockey players in their game.
